School of Computer, Electronic and Communication Engineering

(1) Department of Computer Science and Technology

Educational goals

The department aims to give an excellent science background in computer hardware and software, application theory, computer science and technology. This includes basic knowledge and methodology for training people not only in computer science but in developing technological expertise capable of engaging in application areas. Students will acquire mastery of the basics of the science and technology needed; they will study systems analysis and methods of design; they will learn how to develop hardware and software. The course also covers laws relating to software, basic development activities, and methods of document and material searches. Graduates will be adept at using computers to obtain information

Activities and Prospects

This major combines various fields of expertise. It develops knowledge for manufacturing new products such as programming, electronic circuits, logical circuits, microcomputer technology, and computer assembly. It trains the students to be experts in the programming of computers or electronics. Excellent professors come from the United States, Germany and Korea with the latest trends in the related field of the Internet and its uses. It provides a practical and profitable education

(2) Department of Electronic Communication Engineering

Educational goals

TThe major objective of the communication department is to produce advanced technical experts in a variety of mechanisms of the communication process and transmission base on electronic multimedia equipment. Students will not only learn fundamental theory and principles through the lectures, but also master practical knowledge of communication networks and transmitters through hands-on experience in the laboratory sessions.

Activities and Prospects

In addition to the conventional classroom lectures the department offers a variety of laboratory sessions in which students can conduct practical and application-oriented experiments. The laboratories include the Electrical Circuit Lab, the Communication Applications Lab, and the Telecommunication Data Exchange Lab, which is equipped with the most advanced TDX and telecommunication testing facilities. Computer communication is one of the core technologies that will lead the entire industry in the new millennium. Researchers in diverse communication fields cooperate with each other in order to share their up-to-date knowledge and to realize their ideas as tangible products. As such a firm infrastructure is established across the conventional manufacturing industry, graduates from this department can conduct active research work in various areas such as colleges, research labs, business firms, and venture industries.
