Date of foundation:
In keeping up to date, Yanbian University of Science &
Technology(YUST), as a product of China's reform and openness
policy and the first Chinese-foreign joint venture institution
of higher learning, intends to achieve the following objectives
through a Chinese-German Research Center.

Promote an improved relationship and better understanding
between China and Germany
Strive for an improved quality of education at YUST to cultivate
competent workers Contribute to the economic development
of the local areas as well as the two countries Assist in
the development of China's economy to rise into the ranks
of the international economic powerhouses.

Research functions:
Human resources training and exchange
Top management training program: offer education and exchange
programs for top managers in both countries
Community adult education and vocational training: through
the academic and technological exchange with the internationally
predominant German economic system, educate a pool of potential
workers with the latest technical knowledge and practical
skills that are appropriate for the Chinese market economy
technology transfer
Solicit donations of laboratory equipment from German corporations
and/or government
Encourage investment of capital and equipment from German
corporations to Chinese corporations
Promote visitations, technological consultations and training
of Chinese corporations and their workers by German experts
Cooperate with Chinese-German joint-ventures in China (internship
places for YUST students)
Contact German government/non-government institutions in
China for an academic exchange
Assist YUST Graduates and other Chinese residents to apply
for study courses in Germany
Promote academic exchange with German universities
Promote research data exchange and joint research projects
at German culture centers
Promote better understanding and cultural exchange between
the two countries and cultivate Chinese-German experts
Provide information on German economy, politics and culture
